One of my friends and author of Avatars: Exploring and Building Virtual Worlds on the Internet informed me of an event happening this Tuesday at the A.I.R. Gallery in New York City concerning fashion in both Virtual and Real Worlds, here’s further information for those interested:
“This Tuesday (Feb 27) at 5:30pm is Dara Dorosh’s show at the AIR gallery in New York where a special evening will feature a discussion of male fashion both in Second Life and IRL. Daria was for 40 years was one of the top fashion professors at the Fashion Institute of Technology, a brilliant fine artist, and founder of A.I.R. Gallery, the first women-owned gallery in NYC. We did a great project with her in 2003 about fashion and avatars. There will be a crowd there from the fashion/arts scene in NYC and several cool speakers. I have contacted one SL fashion designer who will also be there to talk about designing for SL and helping get us up on screen. I will be coming in from California thru my av and a voice connection to show how the world plays to a remote audience.
A.I.R. Gallery is located on 511 West 25th Street, Suite 301 – NY, NY 10001 – 212.255.6651 and the event happens on Tuesday, February 27, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.”
