Event: Intel Sunflowers in the Second Life World

Here is an event I’m really excited to participate in! On March 3rd, 2008 and until April 13th, 2008, Intel will be holding a the Intel Sunflowers in the Second Life World aimed at making the Earth greener. Intel opening this event to all Second Life residents and is asking for everyone to plant sunflower at Intel Island. By planing a sunflower, Intel will donate $1 (up to $10,000) to the Conservation International Foundation, whose aim is to protect life on Earth. As well, you get the change to win prizes (as in real world prizes) as each sunflower planted will win you entry into the Intel Sunflowers Sweepstakes. One of the prizes you can win is the Gateway P-171X FX Edition, a top of the line media laptop. Along with the great contest prize, Gateway is also providing an exclusive $50 discount coupon on notebooks $899.99 and up by using the code SUNFLOWER (offer ends May 25, 2008).

There are many ways to get involved with the Intel Sunflowers in the Second Life World, including coming to the opening event on March 3rd, 2008 and closing events April 13th, 2008, both beginning at 6pm PST (8pm Eastern) at the Intel Island. Every one who comes, will get great giveaways to enhance their Second Life experience, including a laptop attachment (with three skins), and an Intel jetpack (after finding two hidden power chips on the Intel Island). Once at the island you will also be able to get your friends involved, by sending them invitations to plant Sunflowers, for each sunflower one of your invited friends plant, grants you a point which adds another entry into the Intel Sunflowers Sweepstakes.
